2011 Lake Saint Louis Biathalon

August 20th, 2011

So, the weather did not cooperate, and the triathlon turned into a biathlon due to thunder.  The delays made for an odd event, but the staff did well making the adjustments.  Without my strongest event I knew it would be tougher.  I was pleased with my bike leg, beating my 1:30 target @ 16mph.  Even better because it was exceptionally windy due to the thunderstorm.  I was more disappointed in my run, which was 7 minutes off my hour target.  Wet shoes probably played a role, but next year I thin I need to work more on brick workouts and running shorter distances at race pace.  Thanks to Kathy & Carter for all their support.  My group results are at: http://onlineraceresults.com/race/view_race.php?race_id=20758&relist_record_type=result&lower_bound=0&upper_bound=12&use_previous_sql=1&group_by=#racetop

Been too long since my last post… sorry. Prior to Halloween we once again visited Boo at the Zoo and Carter again had a blast!

Carter’s First Birthday

February 24th, 2010

This post is a little late, but Carter’s first birthday was a blast! From his party, to the many generous presents, to the obvious highlight… Granny’s visit! Carter seemed to truly enjoy his special day.

Halloween!

October 31st, 2009

Happy Halloween! Carter sure seemed to enjoy his first Halloween. Mommy & Daddy dressed up like pirates, and Carter was their trusty parrot. Thanks to Mommy he had the cutest costume ever! He seemed to enjoy every part of Halloween, from costume shopping (especially being able to walk around himself) to buying pumpkins, to the way Mommy decorated. Of course, his favorite was visiting some friends for Trick or Treat! You can see the whole album here.

2009 Sailing Club Awards

October 23rd, 2009

Carter enjoyed going to the Lake Saint Louis Sailing Club Awards Ceremony / Costume party. In a decision sure to cause long-term psychological damage, Daddy dressed as Princess Buttercup and Mommy was the Dread Pirate Roberts. Carter was our treasure. As much fun as we had, it was a little bittersweet as this was Carter’s first “second”. Hope you enjoy the gallery.

Carter Eating People Food!

October 20th, 2009

Finally! Carter is eating people food. We are overjoyed as parents, because now he is that much more self-sufficient. For a very long time he was upset with anything that did not have the texture of baby-jar food. Finally, one day while I was eating a bannana and holding him his interest was piqued and he tried some! Bananas are his favorite, and he seems to like pasta. He will eat Cheerios when pressed and is at least trying foods with different textures. Here are some pictures of him eating.

Boo! at the Zoo

October 19th, 2009

The St. Louis Zoo decorates for Halloween and opens up late. Carter begged us to go so we obliged. He seemed to really enjoy walking around and playing on the playground. He was very brave and enjoyed all the displays. Here are the pictures.

Carter goes to the Library

October 19th, 2009

Mommy was nice enough to sign Carter up for classes at the Library. In addition to enjoying books, Carter got to socialize with his peers and discover how wonderful bubbles are! Enjoy the pictures.

Playing with Leaves

October 18th, 2009

Of course, one of the best parts of fall is playing with leaves! Now we just need to teach Carter to rake so he can take over for Mommy! Enjoy the pictures
