With Universal a complete bust, I decided to sleep in while Carter and Mommy went to the park. In the afternoon, however, it was pool time!
Despite much of the day being trapped on a broken ride or waiting for a broken ride, Carter declared Universal “Better than Disney.” We started the day in Harry Potter’s world which turns out to be quite different than my own. Carter did get a wand and enjoyed performing his own magic throughout the park, so you can see a couple videos below of that. I needed to nap in the middle of the day after riding one too many of the same 14D rides (okay, they claim only 4 dimensions) repackaged with different heroes and villains. I am not angry. Anyway, much fun was had by Carter.
We went back to Epcot to run on the Test Track again (Daddy won and made the daily leader board, but he would never brag about that). Then we saw Figment and toured the International Pavilion. The highlight was a great lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh. Then we saw some model tralns, checked out, and got to Universal Studios. We only got to ride Spiderman and the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Both were big hits. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
Thats right! Blizzard Beach was pretty cool, very proud of Carter for making it across the icebergs!
At Downtown Disney our Padawan got to make is own light saber and then ate at the T-Rex cafe, which was as every bit as cool as we expected plus had food that far surpassed our expectations.
Then we went to Epcot after a brief rainstorm. Unfortunately Test Track was closed down but we got to do a more intense Mission Space and spent time with Nemo and Crush and some Scuba Divers.
Then we went to the Magic Kingdom for Magic Hours where we saw Philharmagic, Belle, Ariel, Dumbo, and of course ended the night with Space Mountain and ice cream.
Started the morning at Animal Kingdom. Escape from Everest was Carter’s favorite ride so far. Dinoland was not as big of a hit as we expected but we still enjoyed it. We came back to the hotel to go swimming at the resort but got rained out. Then Carter was off to Club DIsney while mom and dad went out to a nice dinner at Narcoossee’s.
So, yeah, Carter started his day in Hollywood Studios by learning the ways of the force and defeating Darth Vader. Then he went over to the Magic Kingdom where he caught up with Mickey and got the trains on time. In addition, he dominated Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain. He learned from the Hall of Presidents and the Carousel of Progress. In between he visited the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Tom Sawyer Island, and Pirates of the Caribbean. In short, the Benedicts’ are back to opening and closing parks. Can you blame him for being a little tired by the end of the day?
Star Tours and the Tower of Terror were definite highlights. An abbreviated visit to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and Toy Story ride were also enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious and full of character!
Day two was getting up early to hit Epcot. Test Track and Mission Space were big hits, as was Soarin’. You can even see a commercial for the car Carter built here. We also looked up some old photo. Before too long we crashed out, but then it was back to The Magic Kingdom for another pass on Space Mountain, The Tomorrowland Speedway, and the Tea Cups.
Flew to Disney today. By plane, train, and automobile we got to the park and got in
- 7 Dwarfs Mine Ride
- Peter Pan’s Magic Flight
- Haunted Mansion
- Space Mountain
- Dessert watching fireworks
- The Tomorrowland People Mover
- Buzz Lightyear
Now up to make it to Epcot for opening, because thats how we do.
Magicbands arrived… can’t wait!
