Monday, June 29th, 2009Race Across America
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009I took a nice 30 mile bike ride today, trying to get out before it was hot. About 2 miles from home, I saw a cyclist coming the other way. I politely waved. Then I noticed a SAG vehicle behind them with a windshield sticker titled “Race Across America”. Curious, I just looked up what Race Across America is. Turns out, this guy (or his relay team) was about 983 miles from completing a 3000 mile bike ride across the entire country! Some of competitors do this solo, finishing in little as 9 days! The whole thing is crazy, I can’t believe I have never heard of it… kudos to the competitors!
First Father’s Day
Sunday, June 21st, 2009
I had a great first Father’s Day! First, mommy took Carter & I to make a ceramic tile with Carter’s handprint, which I am sure I will cherish for a long, long time. Then, we went to Bob Evans (how did you guess?) We finished the day with a nice trip to the beach, although Carter’s favorite part of that seemed to be playing in the grass! Enjoy the gallery here.

2009 On-the-Water Boat Show
Sunday, June 7th, 2009
The Lake Saint Louis Sailing Club hosted its primary fundraiser, the On-the-Water Boat Show over the weekend. Unfortunately, I did not help out much. Fortunately, Carter lent a lot of moral support. Plus, daddy did get to play with a Hobie hybrid kayak/paddle boat/sailboat (and came away very impressed). The event went very well considering bad weather on Sunday and the state of the economy. You can see all the pictures here.
