Update 8/1/2008 - News coverage here.
I was a little late in posting this, but Mark and Cora invited us to celebrate Izak’s first birthday with them at Zachary’s Playground. Izak is so much fun! I posted some pictures of the birthday boy in is own Album

Well, in preparation for Carter I have been scraping ceilings and burying myself in spackle dust. No son of mine will have a popcorn ceiling in their bedroom! The room is all primed, ready for paint on the ceiling, maybe another primer coat on the walls. These walls were very beat-up and it took awhile to smooth them out also. I now have the blog and will keep mentioning home improvements here. Older stuff can still be found in my website archive.
No pictures this time, as Kathy has been busy taking care of / getting ready for the baby. However, for the last two weekends, I have participated in the Sailing club Regattas. Its been a blast! The kids are kicking my butt, but I am watching them and trying to learn to do what they do. Moreover, we have had so much wind that I have been tipping the boats over! With sufficient wind, I can tell you that hiking out is every bit as fun as it looks.
The only downside of sailing so far is that I have to do it alone. I would really like to get a cabin boat and share the experience with Kathy and Carter. Budget is fairly limited for now, but I admit I am looking through Craigslist for a boat, particularly a San Juan 21. If you are looking for a vehicle, you should check out this mash-up. It gets bonus points for being the only mash-up that 1) is useful 2) does not use google maps
I have found a cool site called http://www.mapmytri.com that lets me map my workouts. Gotta love the mash-up. You can see my profile on the site. I am looking to integrate a workout RSS feed. Here is my usual bike route:
I was a bit slow in blogging this, but on June 28th I went to Mid-Ohio to watch vintage car racing. Even better, I was joined by just about my whole family! I had previously seen vintage races with my dad (including a great trip to Laguna Seca for the Monterey Historic races and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2002). I also been to Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen with my Uncle Tom. This was unique in that it was the first time I got to share it with my mom, as well as my Uncle Bob, Aunt Margot, and cousin Laura. As if that wasn’t enough, I also got to go camping with my brother Marc, his wife Shannon, and dog Tius! It was a great weekend, the downpour we got caught in did not damper my spirits.
